This is the 2nd part of a 3 week series. Make sure you read last week’s Article of the Week at: www.ancasterfamilychiropractic.ca/blueprints-of-life/
95-99% of Your Day
Your genetic code provides the blueprint that your cells use to build proteins – your building blocks. The codes can be read in many different ways. The external environment and your mind, determines what genes are used to create proteins. The only way information from the world around you can get to your cells, is through your nerve system. This information determines what proteins are made and ultimately, how healthy you are. Scientists say that for 95-99% of the day, your conscious mind is in active thought. When you’re in active thought, your life isn’t controlled by your creative wishes and desires, your life is controlled by your subconscious.
Your life is a printout of your subconscious behaviour. ~ Bruce Lipton
Let’s start with challenges we come across. Why do you continually struggle with one particular part of your life? It’s because you have a program that doesn’t support the conclusion, and you’re trying to override that program. For example, you say you want to move your body more, but you just keep missing your goal. Subconsciously, you don’t actually believe that movement is essential. Here’s another one – you say it’s important to go to bed on time, but you keep staying up late watching Netflix or scrolling through Facebook. You’re just following your subconscious program that instant gratification is the priority.
What to do about it?
Your conscious, thoughtful mind learns in a number of ways: reading this article, listening to a podcast, watching a documentary or talking to a friend. Your subconscious learns in 2 fundamental ways: hypnosis (through theta brain waves which predominantly occur during the first 7 years of life, imagination is reality for kids) and repetition. Repetition is the key to retraining your subconscious program. Think about learning to drive a car – you didn’t just get in, turn the key and go. But if you’ve been driving for a while, it’s automatic. You don’t have to consciously think about every adjustment of the wheel, when to signal or when to brake – it’s subconsciously programmed by repetition.
I’m running out of space already! Ahhh! Next week, we’ll talk about The Matrix, and the choice you have to take the blue pill, and be oblivious to your subconscious, or to take the red pill and become aware of the program that can be changed.
