‘My bad’ is a weird saying that I don’t use very often, but I definitely felt it in this situation. Last week someone asked me if it would be a good idea to get adjusted for the rest of their life.
I wasn’t sure if she was asking because I hadn’t explained that well several years ago when she started care with us, or if she was just asking because she wanted me to confirm that she already thought it was a good idea. Immediately I heard ‘my bad’ inside my head because I was assuming I had done a poor job describing the incredible healing ability each of us has that can only function at 100% with a healthy spine and connected nerve system. But that wasn’t it.
I answered with ‘absolutely’ and I began to list off how easily subluxations in the spine, and upper neck especially, affect nerve signals from the brain to the body and body to the brain. That leads to poor communication and poor coordination of information in the brain. That can only lead to poor output and instructions to the body. There’s a concept common to computer science and math that’s called GIGO (garbage in, garbage out). The quality of output (brain signals) is determined by the quality of the input. I also told her that within 11-13 days of subluxation, microscopic joint damage starts to occur.
My bad – it turned out my assumption was wrong. She just wanted me to confirm what she already knew, that it’s good to have a healthy spine and nerve system. I could spout off a bunch of stats for you and bits of research to support this truth, but the proof is in the healing that we see every day. Of course I think you should get adjusted as long as you have a spine. And I plan to get checked for subluxations and adjusted as long as I have a spine too.
