Headaches are Devastating
We see many people who are suffering and want to know what causes headaches. Most of the time, the person has been suffering with them for a while, but the headaches have been getting more intense and more frequent. Headaches are a huge problem because of the affect they have on mood, energy level, movement, sleep, relationships and productivity. The World Health Organization statistics confirm that headaches are the third leading cause of Years Lost to Disability (YLD)!
“Despite regional variations, headache disorders are a worldwide problem, affecting people of all ages, races, income levels and geographical areas.”
What Causes Headaches
One of the most common causes of headaches is pressure on the occipital nerves. These nerves exit the skull between the skull itself and the top two neck bones (C1 & C2). Because of their location, upper neck subluxations and/or head tilt cause occipital nerve pressure and affect blood flow in the area. Subluxations in this area very often cause tension, tightness, and pain. Commonly, this type of headache begins in the upper neck, back of the head, radiates up to the sides of the head and over the eyes. Pressure in this area of the spine can also lead to ear ringing (tinnitus), jaw problems (TMJ) and visual disturbances.
You are Made to Heal
You know we don’t have adjustments for headaches or back pain or for any other symptom. We have adjustments for subluxations and you have a body with an intelligence that knows how to heal. The ability for every muscle, tissue and cell to function and heal fully is completely dependent on the brain and nerve system. Our job is to ensure your brain can talk to your body at 100%. That’s it.
You may not suffer from headaches, but make sure you share this with someone who does and is looking for answers.
